A brief history:

M and M Direct was established in 1987, when Mark Ellis and Martin Churchward had the idea of acquiring and selling end of line sports goods. By 1990, they had made the partnership official, registering as M and M Sports, and produced their first catalogue in 1993. Their first website was launched in 1998, which took the business to a new level and allowed it to reach a wider audience. In 2004, the company was subject to a management buyout, and by this stage annual sales had passed £40m. The business has continued to grow and sales for 2008 exceeded £100m.

Over 5,000 product lines are available on the M and M Direct website, four times as many as in their current catalogue. The key product areas are sports clothing and footwear, but other sporting goods and accessories are available. Due to the nature of end of line products, there is a rapid turnover of new lines, and there are new items added almost every day.
